We are looking for experienced senior Portal engineer to build and support our WebSphere Portal platform.
Quickly master our architecture, page structure and theme to assume role of product specialist;
Lead a team of developers; assist them with their development tasks;
Work in a team environment with business, product management team, Front End design, engineering support and QA analysts to deliver frequent releases
Lead the design and implementation of a wide range of tasks including development, infrastructure, performance and security
Work with our deployment team on application promotions to all environments and provide support for those environments;
Ensure system capacity, performance and 24x7 availability
Respond to customer issues in the Production environment and resolve in a timely fashion;
Responsible for identifying and resolving any performance issues;
Enforce company software development processes and standards;
Keep up to date with new technology. Attend conferences, webinars etc
This position may require travel to the US from time to time
Please note that this role will have limited software development opportunities. This role is for someone who wants to move beyond software development.
The successful candidate will work closely with the architect on design and non functional requirements as well as leading a small team of software developers
-A recognized third level IT qualification and a minimum of 6 years working experience with IBM WebSphere Portal Server with Web Content Management (WCM)
Excellent communicator. You must be able to explain your ideas easily via teleconferences, Sametime, documentation etc
Strong experience working with Java (JSR286), WCM, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Dojo, JQuery
Excellent knowledge of all aspects of WCM including WCM development and non functional aspects such as syndication, security etc
Experience working in a leadership role on scalable enterprise level applications using IBM WebSphere Portal Server with WCM
Experience with enterprise products such as Webseal
Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multiple businesses and technical teams;
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and deliver production quality software within tight schedules;
Experience creating Portal styles, themes
You must understand how to debug browser issues and incompatibilities as well as debugging tools such as Firebug;
You must have experience working IBM PMRs
Desirable to have experience working on responsive solutions;
Desirable to have experience with some automated build tools such as Ant
Desirable to have an experience with IBM Connections and/or IBM Data Explorer
