WebSphere MQ Administrator on Mainframe - Z/os

WebSphere MQ Administrator with strong experience working on z/os required by large financial institution.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Extensive technical knowledge of WebSphere MQ with a minimum of 5 years experience in building, configuring & tuning MQ ON A Z/OS PLATFORM (Z/OS EXPERIENCE IS MANDATORY)
- Experience with WebSphere MQ on distributed platforms (preferred but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of SMP/e with proven experience of Mainframe software upgrades
- Exposure to RACF, ACF2 or Top Secret security products with ability to design optimal security solutions for subsystems & applications
- Detailed knowledge of the technology including different queue types and possesses the ability to advise IT Development teams on the correct solution with respect to WebSphere MQ.
- Perform end to end subsystem and application diagnostics
- Strong JCL/SDSF skills
- Familiarity with monitoring products, eg. Omegamon, Mainview, IT Cam
- Experience with other Mainframe technologies such as CICS, IMS or DB2 is beneficial.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong team player & willingness to train junior team members
- Provide out of hours on-call support (24*7) on the team rota
- Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to and good understanding of customer service requirements
- Ensure best practices for MQ environment are in place and adhered to.
- Project management skills
- Works on own initiative
- Development & maintenance of compliance and operational documentation for WebSphere MQ
