Websphere Message Broker Designer/Developer

OUR CLIENT, IT SOLUTIONS PROVIDER IS LOOKING FOR A WEBSPHERE MESSAGE BROKER DESIGNER/DEVELOPER FOR A 6 MONTH CONTRACT TO BE BASED IN CREWE.

The overall project concerns migration to a new product based solution and improved integration across systems. Message Broker will act as a central point of transformation and distribution of data between the various components of the overall solution, as well as with other corporate and third party systems which will need to interact with the solution.

The Designer/Lead Developer is a senior member of the project team working closely with the Lead Analyst and Technical Architect to produce the Message Broker design and to lead the development phase, providing support to less experienced members of the development team as necessary and performing quality assurance reviews of work which is undertaken by the team. In addition, this role will be expected to provide Message Broker related technical expertise to the testing team and participate in testing and bug fixing as required and also provide detailed input into the implementation planning and lead the WebSphere elements within the implementation phase

Key Deliverable:

- To interpret requirements provided by external and internal customers and deliver (design, build, test and implement) technical solutions which support these requirements and conform to the solution architecture.
- Produce specifications for the development team in accordance with mandated standards.
- Clear communication of the solution to external and internal customers to provide confidence in the achievement of all requirements.
- To advise on the set-up of the local test environment and production environment.

Required Skills:

- Experience of designing and developing Enterprise Service Bus or similar integration solutions with IBM WebSphere Message Broker involving multiple information flows between multiple organizations/technologies
- Developing Message Broker Message Flows in version 8 utilizing MQ, FTP and HTTP Web Service based transports, ESQL application code (Compute Nodes) and integrating Message Broker with application databases. Development of bespoke application code (eg Compute Nodes) in Java would be an advantage, as would experience with IBM Integration Broker v9.
- Creation of MQ scripts for deployment of new MQ objects and configuration of publish/subscribe services
- Proven technical ability with: XML schema definition
