Our Industry leading client currently requires a result driven, proactive WebSphere Engineer - (WebSphere Application Server/Portal Server/WAS/WPS) to work on a contract basis in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The successful WebSphere Engineer/Middleware Consultant should have extensive product knowledge of WebSphere Application Server and Portal Server.

The successful WebSphere Engineer/Middleware Consultant is expected to manage WebSphere Infrastructure, participate in projects, change management processes and secure continuity of the WebSphere infrastructure, as well as implementing changes via RFCs with regards to infrastructure and applications.

Essential skills:
-Specific knowledge of WAS/WebSphere Application Server and WPS/WebSphere Portal in versions 6.0, 6.1, 7, 8.5
-Knowledge of at least the following operating systems: AIX, Linux
-Specific knowledge of IBM Http Server and Apache
-ITIL
-Loadbalancing using WebSphere Edge Server
-Knowledge of LDAP
-Familiar with Web Security
-Database knowledge, preferably oracle and DB2
-Knowledge of Java programming standards and methods
-Good knowledge of Scripting with Python and Shell Scripting
-Good knowledge of Internet technologies and concepts
-Working knowledge of different project methods
-English & Dutch language skills

Desirable skills:
-Demonstrable experience in project participation as a WebSphere engineer in migrations
-Previous experience within Banking/Financial Services/Payments industry
