WEBSPHERE AS ON MAINFRAME/ZOS ADMINISTRATOR DUBLIN 380 PER DAY 6 MONTH +
WebSphere AS on Mainframe/zOS Administrator for a 6 month contract in Dublin this will be working on site at a leading Bank.
You will need to have 6 Years of experience in managing Middleware Environment, specially Applications Server in production and Engineering environment predominantly on Mainframe/zOS environment.
You must have Production & Engineering experience for WebSphere Applications Server Version 5.1, 6.0 & 7.0 on zOS
You must have experience of Migration for WebSphere AS V 5, 6 to V 8 & V8.5 on Mainframe/zOS environment
A sold understanding of Mainframe Operations system/zOS, LPAR concept and sysplex exposer.
Banking/Financial knowledge a advantage
Responsibilities of the job:
Adhering to SLAs
ITIL Processes awareness and adhering to
Data Center planning/Migration and designing of Web & Middleware infrastructure module
High availability and clustering for Application Server and Messaging/Integration Server "like WebSphere AS, MQ and MB" Using Hardware and software products
Work closely and as a technical team member, determine the best solution from the set of possible solutions based on client needs & existing infrastructure, scalability, maintainability, and extensibility
Expert in POC for technology refresh, upgrade and transformation
Translating logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements, existing systems and any potential safety-related aspects
Provide on-the-job training and skill transfer to WebSphere Application Server for z/OS to colleagues
Documenting all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate.
Ensuring architecture compliance to the Banks standards are adhered to by all dependent stakeholders and suppliers
Ensuring that projects follow correct design governance principles.
Architect/Design Clustering, Work load balancing in client environment.
Educate the team on new releases of the product
Conduct Product specific Trainings at department level
Assist the team in identifying issues and in preparing Root Cause Analysis for Major incidents/problems.
Analysis and Design application hosting on Middleware product suits.
Architecture planning and designing the application platform, ie What should be OS, Middleware product, Database and their storage techniques
Broad knowledge of high-performance, highly-available computing environments and integration of technical products into complex environment
Vast experience in migrating/upgrading the Middleware product suits
Mentoring/Training Team Members
Handling tickets/requests
Identifying issues with existing implementation level architectures and follows appropriate
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
IBM Certified WebSphere Applications Server Core and Advance ND.
ITIL v3 foundation
