Website Copy Writer

Our Public Sector client, a North London Borough Council, is looking to recruit an experienced Copy Writer who will create and edit content on their Website, ensuring consistent content through the use of editorial guidelines.

You will be asked to:

- Audit and update existing web content to ensure plain English, consistent tone and compliance with the editorial guidelines.
- Implement compelling and creative content through following best practice copy writing and content creation approaches for web, and by writing specifically with our client's service users in mind.
- Develop friendly, positive and supportive relationships with external and internal customers, and to provide them with excellent service.

In order to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of writing for the web and plain English
- Customer centricity - intuitively puts the user at the heart of everything
- Experience of working within a goal-oriented environment with responsibility for creating web content to deliver against specific online objectives
- Capability for influencing and negotiating with stakeholders in challenging or complex environment
- Proactive approach to recommending and implementing improvements to websites as part of a customer-centred approach
- Understanding of principles of web usability and accessibility and practical knowledge of their application
- Experience of working within a multi-discipline web team
- Have worked with Web Content Management systems, (eg Jadu, Immediacy, Red Dot, Vignette, Drupal) (desirable)
