Website and Database Manager

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Web and Database Manager is responsible for optimising Internet opportunities to transform the Authority's websites into leading, best-practice, service driven channels of communication that contribute to growth, build stronger relationships with customers, support organisational performance and enable business relationships. Specific responsibilities include the strategic and technical development of the Authority's websites and consumer databases to ensure that they are functioning as effective communication and marketing tools.

Expected Projects:

Website
o Adhoc assistance in page creation outside of standard templates
o Assist in panorama testing and rollout.

CRM
o Responsive design implementation of all SOPA iframes
o Business events report and system customisation
o Lifestyle report creation and customisation
o Corporate communications report customisations

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong communication and writing skills, including writing for the online environment, verbal and listening skills and the ability to understand technical information and rewrite into plain English

Demonstrated skills in web Front End development including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and web server technology.

Demonstrated web design skills using web design software Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Flash to build and maintain website elements

Demonstrated database skills including understanding of web/database integration and standard database activities, including segmentation and reporting.

Demonstrated understanding of the different capabilities of databases and the enhancements that may be required.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to train staff from non-IT backgrounds.

Highly developed relationship management and customer service skills

Demonstrated ability to work both as a member of a team and to work autonomously, using initiative.

Experience

Experience managing a large, public facing website and implementing strategic online initiatives, including experience in information design, content management systems and relationship management software.

Experience in managing externally contracted web hosting companies and working with web designers and developers

Experience in extracting, interpreting and making recommendations on reports.

Experience using Squiz (MySource Matrix) and Joomla platforms is advantageous.

Demonstrated customer service experience.
