Web/UI Developer

Job Description:

Overview of business area or project:

International Trading Solutions is a critical business function within the Global Markets division, supporting the management and execution of Primary Market and Listed securities for Private and Wealth Management clients.

You will be joining the Cross-Asset Execution IT team, where we are building out the next-generation order management and execution platform.

This exciting project gives us the opportunity for greenfield development using latest technologies and frameworks, as we implement our roadmap and migrate from our Legacy platform.

Key Responsibilities:

You will take a lead role in the EMS development team, building strategic web-based UI components using the latest technology frameworks and tools.

You will work in an Agile environment within a cross-functional team, delivering high-quality and well-tested code.

Collaborating with global application dev teams to integrate with a distributed service-based architecture, and deliver end-to-end business capabilities.

Overview of the department/team (team size, backgrounds, personalities ):

You will join a Zurich-based development team, working with global application owners that manage and support the global order management and execution platform.

Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:

Contractor will be building new components using the latest tools and open-source frameworks.

There are challenging functional and non-functional requirements that need to be met, supporting a business-critical trading platform.

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

- Extensive experience with web development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript)
- Extensive experience with web frameworks and APIs (eg. Angular/React, ag-Grid, GoldenLayout, etc)
- Experience with RESTful web services and WebSockets
- Experience with low latency trading platform (not as a dev but understanding what is involved)
- Fluent English, written and Spoken

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

- Java and Java EE Server Side development beneficial
- Experience with Agile methodology (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Experience with DevOps tools (Atlassian Jira/Confluence, CI/CD, etc)
