MUST HAVE SKILLS:
BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Candidates must also have 5-8 years of QA Automation experience along with 5+ years of web apps and web services experience. Strong experience in using automation test tools like SoaTest, SoapUI or other automation tools is a must. Must have experience with Junit.

The Web Services QA Engineer will be responsible for software test and evaluation efforts via API testing. This candidate will be responsible for developing systems and tools with the capability to support continuous integration development and quality test cycles which are highly automated. In addition, this role will be responsible for implementing API automation solutions for functional and regression testing. The candidate should be able to translate business use cases into technical specification and implement the solution. This role requires technical skills, including the ability to create, document and execute test strategies and test plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collaborate with developers and QA leads to improve API testability, automation, and tools
- Design and develop API load/automation tools and test frameworks
- Work with the team to increase the test coverage using Java, Groovy, Python, etc.
- Lead and execute both testing and releases during all stages of development
- Work with development and operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of automation
- Design and execute test plans, scenarios and scripts
- Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects
- Use Scrum methodology and participate in all phases of the iterative process
- Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
- Define test parameters, design tests, interpret test results and analyze test trends
- Coordinate with offshore development and test teams

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

- 8+ years of experience in development and/or QA automation
- 5+ years of strong technical competency and experience with web applications and web services
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Quality Assurance processes and methodologies
- Strong experience in using automation test tools like SoaTest, soapUI, etc.
- Must have experience with automation tools like Junit, TestNG, etc.
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented programming, distributed systems, web technology and web protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP)
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries to validate data and the ability to write Unix commands
- Ability to write Unix commands
- Experience with Change Management Tools like Jira, ClearQuest, etc.
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Experience in working in a cross functional organization with multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- BS in computer science, computer engineering or relevant technical discipline required
