PART TIME OPPORTUNITY FOR IT PROJECT MANAGER

Bring your project management skills, technology experience and savvy to this signature Seattle company to lead and champion technology projects. This position will apply project management skills in managing a variety of Web and/or Mobile Technology initiatives (depending on the domain expertise) supporting Starbucks business success.

This role will work collaboratively with global and in-market business subject matter experts, architects, and other technical team members to deliver high visibility web and mobile initiatives via state-of-the art technologies. This leadership role requires the ability to balance priorities, an appetite for challenge, flexible thinking with a mind for creative problem solving, and a concise and insightful communication style.

Strong candidates will have superior project management skills, a talent for leading teams to achieve target dates while establishing confidence and credibility with senior level IT leaders and executive stakeholders, drive resolution through ambiguity, and a good sense of humor. S/He will possess well-rounded knowledge and experience with agile development methodologies, other than Scrum (eg Test Driven Development, Kanban, Lean, etc.), experience working with high volume mobile or mobile-optimized E-commerce apps/websites, as well as tracking solutions such as TFS, with the ability to apply each appropriately to drive project success.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own and drive successful execution and delivery of technology solutions implementation.
- Influence operational and executive leadership within the business areas to create and maintain alignment around the project business objectives, measurable benefits, success criteria, scope and constraints impacting project delivery.
- Negotiate across multiple functions to resolve conflicts and competing priorities.
- Communicate status of the project to executive leadership.
- Drive project execution and delivery according to business needs and requirements.
- Work in close partnership with IT directors and teams to delivery technology platforms.
- Assess project health and status, and direct any necessary corrective measures to ensure project success including escalation and visibility to Senior Leadership when appropriate.
- Creatively apply project management processes to address unique situations.
- Clarify and apply triple constraint priorities to project oversight and control.
- Evaluate and manage project change impacts.
- Create comprehensive project plans, detailing project schedule, resource estimates, quality requirements and metrics, and organizational change management activities.
- Define and document project work breakdowns, monitor tasks, status, update work estimates and incorporate new tasks to plan as needed.
- Determine project governance and decision making structure.
- Establish project roles and responsibilities and provide team members with clear direction.
- Develop and actively manage project schedule, resources, and budget.
- Manage project resource gaps and acquisitions, engage third party suppliers for outsourced services as needed.
- Track and report monthly budget accruals, variance and forecasts.

- Project Management experience in a Global Technology Environment - 5 years
- Project Management experience delivering Global Web Technology solutions - 4 years
- Building and leading distributed cross functional teams - 4 years
- Application of industry-based project management and systems development methodologies and tools - 4 years
- Experience working in a matrixed and global environment - 4 years
- Experience working with business areas to prioritize requirements and select appropriate technology to deliver effective business solutions - 3 years
- Requirements elicitation, and process analysis and design expertise - 4 years
- Experience delivering technology solutions leveraging a Software as a Service (SaaS) or Platform as a Service (PaaS) model - 4 years
- Experience in the retail industry deploying customer-facing solutions highly desirable
- Ability to establish confidence and credibility with senior level IT leaders and executive stakeholders
- Ability to navigate in a fast-paced dynamic environment with high degrees of ambiguity to deliver large and complex projects
- Ability to maneuver through tough political situations
- Ability to manage geographically distributed teams
- Superior communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to diverse audiences and organizational levels, bridge communication gaps between technology and business users, and foster open team communication
