Job Title: Web Graphic Designer

Type: 3 month contract (likely to extend or go perm)

Location: Mountain View, CA

Our client is seeking a Web Graphic Designer for a 3 month contract position in Mountain View, CA. As a web designer you will set design standards for and drive the creation of compelling designs for global web sites. Your creativity, understanding of user behavior and strong visual design sense will contribute to developing cutting edge web pages with a great user experience. You will work collaboratively with other web designers, developers and architects. You are an individual with a well-rounded skill set including strong HTML and CSS abilities, Photoshop/Fireworks and Illustrator expertise, technical savvy, great attention to detail, and proven expertise in web page design and development.

WEB GRAPHIC DESIGNER RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design major components of a site and set standards across large project areas, often global in scope
- Drive creative web projects from start to finish, collaborate with Marketing, Engineering and other web designers and developers
- Create content/site maps, user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes
- Conduct and apply research on design practices, identifying problems and proposing creative solutions
- Synthesize feedback from multiple sources and iterating rapidly on mockups
- Fulfill several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines

REQUIREMENTS:

- Online portfolio of work required (please include online portfolio links)
- Expert in user-centric and data-driven design
- Strong visual design sense
- Strong HTML/CSS/JS skills with solid knowledge of usability, accessibility and cross browser issues
- Experience designing and implementing web sites with a strong knowledge of graphic editing and optimization
- Excellent attention to detail, keen eye for clean UI implementation and knowledge of design best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Any web development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) is a plus, but this position is 100% design oriented
- The ability to quickly prototype wireframes or visual concepts is a big plus
