Web GIS Developer for Multinational Client in Stockholm/Sweden

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A WEB GIS DEVELOPER TO WORK AT OUR MULTINATIONAL CLIENT IN STOCKHOLM/SWEDEN.

EXPECTED TASKS AND DELIVERABLES BY THE CONSULTANT

- Supporting system development and update in-house Enterprise GIS.
- Successfully and in collaboration with the in-house GIS development resources undertake the software development tasks assigned to him/her, that are part of the broader GIS software development activities.
- Develop save mapping session functionality with a solution for elaborating/persisting the data at Server Side.
- Develop attribute table editing functionality
- Support integration with internal and external web services that will get spatial and non-spatial data.
- Finalize a time series mapping tool.
- Contribute to integration of CSV & time series mapping into single interface.
- Provide software development support for SharePoint and Silverlight tools in support to in-house GIS system.
- Write appropriate technical documentation.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

- University degree with minimum 6 years experience in IT
- Strong knowledge of Web Feature Services (WFS), Web Map Services (WMS), Shapefile
- Excellent knowledge of ArcGIS for SharePoint, ArcGIS Server 10
- Experience in software architecture design, implementation and systems integration
- Proven experience in developing Enterprise GIS solutions
- Experience with SharePoint (MOSS 2010) and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Experience in agile development methods, including Test Driven Development
- Strong knowledge of data classification/summarisation algorithms for GIS and their implementations
- Programming in .NET Framework 3.5 (VB.NET, Silverlight 4, ASP.NET, EF) and MS SQL Server
- Extensive experience in developing SOAP/REST web services

COMPETENCES AND SKILLS

- Familiarity with the EU INSPIRE directive
- Technical documentation writing
- Very good command of English, oral and written
