Imagine being an web editor for one of the world most famous brands and having your own name published and your work viewed and the ideas you have raised used and discussed by literally millions of people - this is the position

What we want is an established freelance editor to have an interest in Android and Mobile products and have experience of editing on large scales websites where some of the topics are Mobile phone related and or Android accessory related. The role is a tradition web editor post working alongside outstanding web developers and designers helping you to create web content and break new grounds within Mobile web editing

A big part of your time will be spent in preparing new services and sections of the websites for upcoming tools and SDKs. Deadlines are often tight, and you must be able to work at a high pace, and at the same time be able to make the right priorities. You should also have a clear user perspective, and always consider how the information is perceived outside-in. In this role, you are also in contact with many internal and external interfaces. It is therefore important that you are a communicative and social person who likes and put value these contacts.

It's your responsibility to collect all website requirements from stakeholders, and match them against the opportunities you see in the development of the websites and the user experiences we could create. You need to make sure everything is relevant, functional, consequent, and updated with the latest information and tools. This requires you to be able to work both high and low in a structured way, embracing the various challenges with patience, a care for details and creativity.

You should also have a strong passion for creating content yourself, and most importantly texts and images. You will spend considerable time writing, editing and preparing content, such as technical documentation and blog posts, to be published at the websites. You need to have a solid interest and proven knowledge in writing and in external communication. We expect you to be fluent in written and spoken English (US and UK English). It's a strong merit if you have worked with both documentation and marketing before.

Organisational placement
This role is part of the Developer Team, who is responsible for the communication and dialogue with the developer community. The web team runs the websites, and also manages its own developer focused Youtube, Twitter and Facebook channels. The Developer Relations team is also responsible for Sony's engagement in external developer forums and developer events.

You will be answering to Head of Web, and you will be part of a communication team where the content strategy is defined by the Lead Editor.

Tasks
*Create and edit content (texts, images, videos) for pages and sections on the websites in time for product, tool and service releases and updates.
*Edit and transform internal documentation material for external publishing according to brand and writing guidelines.
*Take lead on the brand guidelines and publishing guidelines for the editorial team.
*Create and maintain a long term publishing and update plan for the website.
*Work with internal and external interfaces, and vendors, on content and functional updates of the websites.
*Create and make sure sustainable information architecture is set
