WEB DEVELOPER - PHP/MYSQL
CENTRAL BRISTOL
3 TO 4 MONTH CONTRACT

As the Web Developer will work as part of a small project team to deliver a programme of enhancements to the website. You will act as technical lead in delivering these enhancements using PHP/MySQL and Wordpress, including plug-in and theme development.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The contractor will carry out the following activities:-
work with Project Manager to estimate and plan technical deliverables;
act as technical lead in the development and testing of agreed products, using PHP/MySQL;
implement tested deliverables in the live environment; deliver agreed system documentation;
provide skills transfer to in-house development team, including best practice development techniques. It would be an advantage for the successful candidate to have experience of PYTHON and Linux system management.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following essential skills:-
Recent experience of using Object Oriented PHP/MySQL in a Wordpress environment.
Knowledge of Wordpress plug-in and theme development.
Extensive experience of developing enhancements for high-availability websites.
Knowledge of best practice development techniques.
Experience of providing technical leadership and skills transfer.

The following skills are desirable:
Experience of integrating website functionality with Back Office systems. PYTHON. Linux system management
