Web Developer (ASP.NET) - Cleveland, OH

Our client located in downtown Cleveland, OH is currently hiring a ASP.NET Developer.  This position will be a 6 month contract position and may be extended longer.

*MAY BE REQUIRED TO COME ON-SITE FOR A IN-PERSON INTERVIEW.*

The primary focus for this position will be Microsoft ASP.NET application development. Candidate will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle but specifically tasked to perform prototyping, development, testing and integration. Candidate must be experienced with Microsoft ASP.NET application framework and a strong working knowledge of  persisting data to an Oracle database.

In addition this candidate will perform the following:

- Perform software life cycle maintenance including but not limited to research, design, documentation, and modification of software specifications throughout an application life cycle.
- Perform verification and validation analysis to prove software conforms to established requirements and specifications.
- Contribute developed works to the Lab System's code library by creating concise, well formed software that is both reusable and easily maintainable.
- Recommend and perform custom application improvements. Design, run and monitor performance tests on new and existing applications for purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
- Develop and maintain user manuals and guidelines. Train developers and end users to operate new or modified applications.

Technical Experience/Skills Required

- 5+ years software development experience with a technical background in ASP.NET, C#, Web Services, Active Record, nHibernate, HTML, Javascript, Ajax, and JQuery.
- Excellent understanding of Object Oriented Design and development practices.
- Solid experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Hands-on experience developing and executing test cases and test plans.
- Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies

- Desire to learn and expand skill set
- Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

- Adept at conducting research into project-related and software-related issues and products
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working with business users, presenting to client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management.

Technical Experience/Skills Preferred

- Experience migrating Powerbuilder applications to Microsoft web centric technologies.
- Experience programming Microsoft ASP.NET Web Applications.
- Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices including working knowledge of Visual Studio with subversion integration.
