Web Developer and Tech Consultant - Java

A talented web-developer and technical consultant is required for a successful software house based in Edinburgh.

Salary: £30k + benefits

The opportunity to join a great software house specialising in financial consultancy as a web-developer. You'll be using a range of technologies in a highly consultative manner; and will be given good responsibility over a range of projects. You'll be in a great position to receive training from more senior team-members and will work closely with senior management. This is an excellent position for someone with a few years experience as a developer looking to take on the next stage in their career.

You will be working as a technical consultant and visiting client site to gather detailed business requirements and deliver excellent technical solutions to exceed customer expectations. You will therefore work the full project life-cycle liaising with third party clients at all levels. You should also be happy assisting in the successful post implementation, support and maintenance of these software applications.

To be successful in this position you must be an excellent communicator capable of taking on a consultative position with clients. You should be very comfortable working both in a team and independently.

You must have excellent technical development skills including:

-HTML, OO PHP, Java, SQL, jQuery, and CSS etc?
-Exposure and experience with Flex/Actionscript would be advantageous.
-3 years plus in a dev/support role is required, and you should also hold a solid grounding it IT systems testing and bug management - as well as exposure to Project Management!

This successful team works in an Agile environment - you should therefore be familiar with Agile practices and be enthusiastic about working in this environment.
