My Client, a global technology company with operations in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland is looking for a WEB DEVELOPER to join their team on a contract basis. This is a great opportunity to work with one of the most admired IT companies in the world. THE DEVELOPER SHOULD IDEALLY HAVE STRONG EXPERIENCE WITH:
- Content management systems, primarily Wordpress
- Management and integration of new functionality
- MySQL database administration
- HBase, Thrift and OpenTSDB
- RESTful API development, integrating, and testing
- AJAX and JSON/JSONP
- PHP, Javascript and CSS
- Cross-browser compatibility
- Node.js, websockets, Socket.io
- Unit testing and continuous integration (Jenkins, CPPUnit, PHPUnit, JUnit)
- Code management and version control (Git and Subversion)
- Communication - presentation of new features and changes to a team
- Agile development
- Test-driven code development
THE DEVELOPER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Wordpress administration - managing users and site design eg menus, pages, and reports
- Maintaining and testing cross browser compatibility
- Creating and modifying page templates based on a custom design
- Implementing, modifying, and testing existing and new JS functions
- Implementing and testing AJAX hooks and functions using PHP and JSONP
- Conducting performance analyses eg using server and browser based development tools (eg Chrome developer/Firefox/Safari)
- Communicating new design features to a team and handling change requests
- Managing a continuous integration and test-driven software development framework.
- Node.js development
- Developing and documenting API function implementations
- Integrating Node.js modules where necessary
- Databases:
- MySQL database administration
- MySQL integration - using Sequelize or other Node.js module
- API function calls for OpenTSDB and HBase
