The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering front- and Back End code for Web service(s) running on Amazon AWS infrastructure. He or she will provide technical and strategic expertise in planning and developing new features, debugging, maintaining, expanding and documenting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide software/web application design and development to meet the teams design objectives for web applications, interfaces, and interactive visualizations using the most recent web technologies
- Collaborate and participate in regular team meetings with humanities scholars, designers, and librarians to determine user requirements and technical specifications for software/web application projects
- Share, test and debug, document and maintain the code using collaborative revision control systems (ie Git)
- Deliver assigned work packages according to work schedule
- Iterate in a development and user-testing cycle

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Develop interfaces and interactive reports and visualizations using the most recent web technologies, such as REST, HTML5, Java/JavaScript, JSP, Python
- Conceive and develop Back End parts and databases (Tomcat, Amazon RDS/MySQL, SQL)
- Easily manage and manipulate different data formats (CSV, JSON, XML)
- Experience as demonstrated by a portfolio of work and minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Experience and comfort working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
