Web Developer

Helsinki, Finland - Ref: TRF-WDev

THE PROJECT:

The core activity is to analyse, develop and support medium and large Pan-European projects based on Java and open source technologies. The projects span from the pharmaceutical, environmental, chemical as well as EU institutions domains.

THE CANDIDATE:

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE EXPECTED TO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

- University degree in Information Technology
- Minimum 5 YEARS of professional experience in IT after the completion of studies with experience in JAVA/JEE DEVELOPMENT
- Proven working experience XML, SQL, JDBC, HIBERNATE, JSF, ECLIPSE, DESIGN PATTERNS AND WEB SERVICES
- OOP JAVASCRIPT EXPERIENCE
- Experience with one or more popular Javascript frameworks eg JQuery, ExtJS, etc.
- Familiarity with W3C standards, WEB STANDARDS AND THE PRINCIPLES OF USER-CENTERED DESIGN, USABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY
- Understanding of templating, composition and page layout
- Expertise in cross browser/platform HTML/CSS coding
- Familiarity with REST ARCHITECTURES and rich browser Ajax applications as clients
- Understanding of the concept of MVC on client and possible experience with related frameworks eg Backbone.js, JavascriptMVC
- Knowledge on ITERATIVE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT, UML, SUBVERSION
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good Team spirit and able to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
