Web Designer (full or part time)

Background Our client has a 30 day role for a Web Designer based in Brighton. This role can be full or part time (3 or 5 days per week dependant on which you would prefer). You will be responsible for designing on-brand visual assets for the client's customer facing interactive online products and services which maximize the their ability to influence behavior change within key customer groups, and meets the their business requirements, enabling effective customer engagement. We are looking for a candidate who has experience on the technical side of web design and not a graphic designer / web graphic designer. Main Duties/ Responsibilities * Design and produce high-quality, on-brand and compelling, graphical assets to use on the client's websites, e-learning products or Intranet * Ensure all the on-line products comply with government web standards for accessibility and usability * Responsible for refining the client's on-line design language * Design email creative that appeals in look and content to the segments being targeted * Ensure site design enhances, rather than compromises, site performance and usability * Continuing work on expanding the online brand * Working collaboratively with the UX/WCMS developer support the implementation and adoption of a user-centred design methodology within the organisation Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved Essential Criteria * Established and proven digital design skill, with a strong varied folio showing web design and experience * Able to communicate rationale behind design work to non-designers * Meticulous eye for detail * Experience of usability and accessibility principles, standards and techniques in relation to web graphic design * Ability to build working web product prototypes in Axure or similar package in readiness for user testing. Support can be provided in this area.
