Web Designer/Developer/UI Designer/SC Cleared

WEB DESIGNER/DEVELOPER

LOCATION: UK South [Wiltshire]

DURATION: 6 months [initially]

SECURITY CLEARANCE: SC

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: This is an excellent and exciting new opportunity for an [SC Cleared] Web Designer/Developer to work in a secure and complex environment on an initial 6 month assignment for one of Steria's most prestigious Government clients.

On client's instructions, due to the urgency, nature and length of the assignment, the successful candidate must have current security clearance to SC level. This role complies with national security vetting requirements.

The role will meet periods of high UI design and development demand by the project.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Strong and demonstrable skills in user interface design is key.
- Strong and demonstrable JavaScript programming skills (particularly Angular, openlayers, leaflet, etc). Particularly, working with Back End developers to collaboratively build API and AJAX-based Front End.
- Strong and demonstrable skills building and styling interactive websites.
- Experience working with distributed version control, primarily git (and web-based git services).
- Experience building mock-ups and wireframes.
- Experience configuring and deploying web capabilities on Linux and Apache.
- Good inter-personal skills, with the ability to liaise well with users and developers.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- The Web Developer/Designer is expected to be in daily contact with the tech lead or lead developer depending on the level of collaboration required on an application.
- One face-to-face meeting between client staff and developer/designer required once per 14 days [ask for locations]
- All source code and documentation will be Crown Copyright with licensing at the discretion of the client.
- Code will be shared/transferred using existing version control systems.
- Working directly with users of applications is subject to clearances.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Hold DV level clearance
