Web Administrator (Linux) - ASAP - Geneva

Edelway AG is a Swiss IT professional services company.

We are now looking for an experienced Web Administrator/Linux to join our international team at our global client in Geneva.

This is a long term mission and we will be particularly interested to hear from local candidates or keen to relocate to the area, start with a 6 month contract, extension related to performance.

ROLE:

-Administration of system/software configurations and troubleshoot Linux based Web
-Document and improve upon processes, procedures, and best practices
-Perform system administration of web and application Servers.
-Provide recommendations on configuration improvements.
-Analyse and identify key areas for automation and optimization
-Develop system tools and utilities (eg scripts) to support the web infrastructure.
-Coordinating maintenance and outages with infrastructure and business groups
-Involve in designing solutions for public Clouds (Azure, Amazon)

PROFILE:

We are keen to hear from people with at least 7 years of experience as Web Administrator (Linux) and:

-Experience of LAMP/LEMP stack (incl web caching mechanisms and load balancing)
-Experience in support, installation, configuration, clustering, best practices, troubleshooting, performance tuning of JBOSS & Tomcat
-Experience with PHP based Web application management and troubleshooting (incjol Drupal, WordPress and Moodle)
-Database infrastructure skills - MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL - including advanced cluster implementation, load balancing and tuning.
-Excellent Knowledge of network communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, RPC, etc.)
-Scripting knowledge - PHP, Java, Ruby, Python, Perl or Bash.
-Good knowledge about web & applications performance monitoring.
-Experience in continuous delivery tools like Git, Bamboo, and other version control
-Docker containers experience is a plus
-Working knowledge of Cloud-Based services (PaaS & Saas)
-Knowledge of ITIL service management methodology
-Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
-Willingness to participate to on call support program
