WEB Administrator/Consultant, Linux, Spain, 6 Month Contract

WEB ADMINISTRATOR/CONSULTANT, LINUX, SPAIN, 6 MONTH CONTRACT

One of our prestigious clients is currently looking to add an experienced Web Administrator (Linux) consultant to one of their office's based in Valencia, Spain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Installation, configuration and support of Web services based on the LAMP/LEMP stack.
- Day-to-day operational support and maintenance of Web infrastructures and applications hosted user service requests and service restorations.
- Follow-up on problem management cases including problem detection, logging, categorization, investigation, diagnosis and Complete resolution plans.
- Assistance in the evaluation, configuration and installation of new Web infrastructures and applications releases in accordance with established change management processes and configuration management standards.
- Coordination of maintenances and outages with infrastructure and business groups.
- Migrations of Web applications and consolidation of Web infrastructures.
- Deployment of tools and implementation of processes to assist in operational support and to align with industry standards and customer needs.
- Documentation of operating processes, procedures and installations including technical diagrams and infrastructure setup.
- Identification of key areas for automation and optimization, including improvements in system performance, processes, and deployments.
- Installation and configuration of Web Traffic Analysis tools and management of Web statistics profiles.
- Administration and support of Enterprise Search Appliances.
- Stand-by services during weekends, official holidays and outside business hours as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- The complete LAMP and LEMP stack, including Linux distributions (Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE, Ubuntu), MySQL, PHP, Apache and nginx.
- Open-source RDBMS including MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL.
- Database cluster implementation, load balancing and tuning.
- PHP based Web applications management and troubleshooting, including but not limited to Drupal, WordPress and Moodle.
- JBOSS Application Server and Tomcat.
- Distributed caching systems like Memcached, Redis and HTTP accelerators like Varnish.
- Scripting knowledge including PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails, Python, Perl, Bash and ColdFusion.
- Experience in distributed revision control systems like Git, Bamboo, and issue tracking solutions like JIRA.
- Knowledge of the installation, configuration and administration of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Web authentication mechanisms and security: authentication protocols, certificates, SSL/TLS encryption.
- Application layer Internet protocols: DNS, HTTP, FTP, SSL/TLS, LDAP, SMTP, SSH. etc., including the ability to analyse network issues.
- Web applications request routing, load-balancing and Proxy technologies and configurations.
- Web publishing extensions and synchronization protocols.
- DNS services and domain registration.
- Microsoft Active Directory services and integration.
- Web applications logging and diagnostics tools.
- Service Management tools (ticketing systems).
- Service Management methodologies (ITIL).
- Project Management methodologies (PRINCE2).
- Nagios system monitoring.
- Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM).
- Windows Operating Systems (Windows Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2).
