Main Duties/Responsibilities

To provide logistics operational and transition support, within a number of work activities/projects across various sites within the UK. The post holder will be required to, support the management team though a focused period of transition whilst ensuring the delivery of the Business Stream outputs of Receipts, Store, Maintain, Issues and Despatch (RSMID).

Key responsibilities:
To co-ordinate on behalf of the Business Stream Manager a controlled transfer of stock between warehouses & sites and to ensure stock integrity is maintained

To be the Group Focal point/project lead for the various out-load and in load programmes

To develop in line with the out load programme a re-brigading plan of minimal product movement and transactions for the Group.

To review the existing planning documents for the required stock integrity improvements and to implement in full within a fixed time period.

Under the direction of the Business Stream Manager(s) be pro-active in mentoring Warehouse Managers and Group Heads across a number of activities utilising commercial best practice.

To review, recommend and implement a team brief structure for the Group aligned to LCS principals.

To provide focused attention to failures in the delivery of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the LS business, whilst optimising available resources in the BS team and improving effectiveness and efficiency.

Work closely to develop synergies with the other Warehouses to achieve seamless service delivery across the Defence Supply Chain and support the achievement of targets.

To have the necessary man-management skills and logistics expertise to be able to back fill warehouse managers/supervisor roles as required.

Professional/external qualifications required:

Desirable: Member of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or an equivalent Trade Body
