WAN Network Support Engineer - Operations, Design, test, (wide area network)

Our client are a leading IT and network support solutions provider, internationally speak. They are looking for a 2nd level network Support Engineer to offer long-term contracted services working within their NOC centre in Brussels, Belgium.

Duties will include:

Common tasks:
* Analysis and specification of operational requirements
* Analysis and specification of technical processes
* Analysis and specification of technical requirements
* Proofs of concept
* Development of scripts to automate and monitor recurrent systems related tasks
* Definition of test strategies, test design and testing of computing systems and networks
* Performance management
* Change and configuration management (eg assessment, scheduling, implementation and review)
* Capacity management
* Risk management
* Operational support (2nd tier)
* Installation and configuration of all relevant hardware and software
* Daily monitoring
* Incident and problem management (eg trouble ticketing, fault analysis, diagnosis and resolution
* Reporting
* Coordination with 3rd party maintenance contractors
* Technical assessment of technologies and related products
* All types of technical documentation, operational guidelines and procedures
* Technical training and guidance
* Reporting

Wide Area Networks
* Technical analysis and specifications, architecture, design, implantation deployment operation and support of classified wide area networks infrastructures and solutions:
o Communication services and integration of ICT security in a distributed architecture
o Secured Wide Area Network solutions interconnecting a distributed architecture
o Large scale redundant IP, ATM and ISDN, based infrastructure between national and international sites
o Telephony
o Messaging solutions and applications
o Multimedia
* Writing of high level and technical documents (including advice, analysis, reports, design/study, specifications, implementation, testing, training, presentations, etc)
* Administration and maintenance of communication solutions (including OS, messaging systems, databases) and wide area network systems.
* Coordination with the internal and external (eg network providers) technical actors
* Implementation and administration of security defined for communication solutions and wide area network systems
