WAN Commissioning Engineer

The Role:- To work as a network Engineer with in a small team delivering the UK WAN Project. This work will include the installation and configuration of the WAN Equipment, the migration of the Circuits from the existing WAN, and then the Decommissioning of the redundant equipment .

* Installation of the equipment in agreed locations.
* Running the network routes to provide the connectivity required.
* Configuration of equipment such as CISCO ASR 1002 and ASR 006s to meet the approved low level design.
* Implementation if the QOS Service to ensure migration of the existing circuits from the existing TDM WAN to the new IP based WAN.
* Raising the adhering to the request for change (RFCs) request using SM7.
* Producing the support of documentation and providing the necessary handovers to the support teams.
* decommissioning old WAN equipment including the removal of network routes and updating the assed records documentation.
* Mentoring staff and other contractors on the installation and support of the new WAN circuits.

Experience.

Senior Engineers will require a minimum of CCNP in routing and switching and 5 years relevant experience. AND understanding of the TDM, X.21 and the G.703 is also desired.
