Vplex/Storage Consultant

We have a requirement from my customer for a contractor to join the residency team.

SRDF-A, Brocade( DCX4 SAN configuration/masking/zoning) skills are a BONUS.

Location - Stevenage

Duration - 6/7 month rolling contract - 130 FTE Days - 975 hours (7.5 Hrs per day)

Start date - ASAP

Mandatory: SRDF-A, Brocade( DCX4 SAN configuration/masking/zoning.)

Main responsibilities:

- VPLEX Local encapsulation of old VMAX selected hosts
- Migration of non-replicated workload via VPLEX from old VMAX to VNX,
- Performance best practices for VNX
- VPLEX migration of old VMAX to new VMAX
- Working closely with customer's storage team and sharing operational responsibility for VPLEX provisioning and availability
- Performing daily operation and administration for the VPLEX, including provisioning of VPLEX storage and necessary VPLEX support, as well as configuration, layout, and performance tuning of VPLEX infrastructure.
- Providing analysis of the VPLEX environment, documenting best practices, and transferring knowledge to the team
- Providing detailed recommendations for process and procedural changes that result in operational optimization of the VPLEX environment
- Developing procedures for operating VPLEX clusters leveraging best practices for customer.
