The candidate in this travelling Tech Support position will provide service in an 120 mile radius in the Detroit area. Mileage is reimbursed

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience, technical training, or equivalent combination of education and technical experience
- Basic Telephony System or network cabling/troubleshooting experience required
- Installation experience includes replacing current Nortel phone system with Cisco VoIP digital system
- Ability to re-establish paging, music on hold and intercom system as well as cross connecting POTS lines to CAT3 panel using established manual
- Experienced in wall mounting devices safely and cleanly
- Performs good cable management
- Familiarity with use of Butt Set, Punch Tool, Crimp tool, Fish tape, Toner/Tracer and Electrician scissors, power drill for installation and troubleshooting (tools will be provided) to complete the conversion using established manual
- Proper removal and packaging of all equipment of old phone system for safe return to customer
- Ability to provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
- Ability to travel to attend equipment and customer based classroom training as requested
- Experience with repairs of computer systems and peripheral equipment preferred
- Retail Service and Self Checkout Device Experience preferred
- Serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems
- May involve use of problem management databases and help desk system
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Represents CompuCom in a professional and business-like manner and communicates effectively with customers and associates.
- Interacts with customer responding to technical questions or request for information.
- Maintains the highest level of customer satisfaction by resolving all tangible problems and concerns.
- Utilizes web-based project/incident ticketing systems to update work orders timely and accurately for customer, management and vendors.
- Maintains necessary tools, devices, and parts, personal and company owned, to complete VoIP installations, to include follow up maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of installations as needed.
- Escalates problems and issues to a higher level of support as needed/required. This includes service that exceeds response time, repair time, lack of parts, or any other issue that could impact customer satisfaction.
- Primarily provides Tier 1 & 2 level support. Performs general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots, and repair telephony systems and peripheral equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
