This contract position requires an experienced individual to be the lead virtualization subject matter expert on an on-going project. The role of the VMware virtualization expert is to assess the existing the virtualization environment, recommend changes/optimisations to the environment to support the business going forward

* Design and implement new virtualization cloud platforms, and propose suitable approaches to migrations between different cloud environments. This position is responsible for supporting the migration of an existing infrastructure to a standardized virtualized environment. This includes all aspects of the VM creations and the management processes within in a cloud environment.
* Support the Infrastructure and Application teams during the migration project, and provide a technical escalation point for any technical issues which arise during the solution build and project migration phases.

The following proven experience is required:

* Technical Architectural skills
* Experience of designing and implementing enterprise class cloud based solutions
* In depth knowledge of VMware cloud products
* Experience of HA and DR technologies across multiple data centers.
* Experience of multiple hypervisor technologies, specifically HyperV and SCVMM would be beneficial
* Experience of deploying cloud based solutions within secure environments
* Experience of automated cloud based provisioning, self service and charging
