Vmware System Administrators, Contract, Banking, Zürich

For one of our clients, a leading bank located in Zurich, Swisslinx is urgently seeking two VMware System Administrators.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

-       Virtual farm capacity management
-       VM Provisioning process using tools like EVM by ManagedIQ
-       Manage large global VMWare environment as part of a global service delivery team
-       Work closely with Engineering group to bring environment to standard
-       Proactive investigation of all aspects of environment to minimize downtime
-       Document technical procedures
-       Develop scripts to report and solve operational problems
-       Evaluation of tools
-       Perform P2V and V2V
-       Manage global technical projects in virtual platform
-       Perform virtual hardware upgrade
-       Ad-hoc Performance Analysis

IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:

-       Extensive experience in VMware ESXi 4.* and ESXi 5.* (senior level)
-       Know-how on Windows Server, Linux, Solaris, SQL and Storage (SAN/NAS)
-       Ideally you worked in global enterprise organisation already
-       Experience building Servers on ESX platform
-       Understanding of HP & DELL blades and chassis hardware
-       Decent Scripting skills (eg Powershell, Python)
-       Good command of English (written and spoken)

THIS IS AN INITIAL 6 MONTH CONTRACT TO START ASAP (RENEWAL VERY LIKELY).
