Vmware Engineer

SUMMARY:

- The Sr. VMware Systems Engineer will support the VMware infrastructure.
- The candidate needs to have a technical understanding of VMware 4/5 as this position supports our server virtualization computing solution and the ongoing delivery of cost optimized VM services.
- As a member of the VMware team, the right individual will need to be strong in documentation and requirements planning.

SKILLS:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 100% high-end VMware experience in the past 7+ years, preferably with a Linux background as well.
- Strong understanding of VMware vSphere and ESX technologies: VCD, SRM, vCOPS, AutoDeploy, Distributed Switches,
- Strong knowledge of VMware PowerCLI
- Solid understanding of virtual and physical network, storage and security concepts and practices
- Understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and command line operations
- Working knowledge of data center management concepts and practices
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- VMware Engineer must have the ability to develop quantitative, prioritized action plans to mitigate risk
- Process, procedure, and standards development experience
- Solid team player with a can do" attitude

DESIRED SKILLS:

- VCP preferred
