Virtualization System Specialist, Spain, Contract, 6 Months

VIRTUALIZATION SYSTEM SPECIALIST, SPAIN, CONTRACT, 6 months

One of our prestigious clients is currently looking to add a Virtualization System Specialist to one of their office's based in Valencia, Spain.

THE ROLE:

- Install, configure, customize and maintain Hyper-V virtualization system software and related products.
- Provide systems administration support for Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to the users, troubleshoot technical problems and document solutions
- Coordinate with server and application administrators any changes or issues related to virtual Servers.
- Work jointly with VMware services group to develop Hyper-V as a service and integrate it with the existing Client virtualisation services.
- Implement monitoring of Hyper-V infrastructure and develop procedures to address the generated alerts.
- Develop metrics and reports to monitor the availability and capacity the Hyper-V virtual infrastructure.
- Develop and administer Hyper-V services chargeback system.
- Develop/update scripts to improve/automate the administration of client virtualization services
- Assist with systems administration support for VMware infrastructure.
- Provide stand-by services on a rotation basis during weekends, holidays and outside of normal working hours.
- Develop and update procedures and documentation
- Perform other duties as required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Five years or more of experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Three years or more of hands-on experience with Hyper-V.
- Extensive knowledge of the installation and administration of Hyper-V including provisioning, capacity planning, clustering, and migration from Legacy physical or virtual platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good knowledge of Storage Area Networks, LAN, WAN and Internet technologies and protocols.
- Capacity of working efficiently in an autonomous way with remote teams.
- Good knowledge of English.

DESIRABLE:

- Experience in managing large Hyper-V environments.
- Good knowledge of Linux or other UNIX-based operating systems.
- Good knowledge of PowerShell and other Shell Scripting (Perl, bash, )
- Good knowledge of HP Blade Servers.
- Knowledge of VMware and VMware products.
- Knowledge of Hyper-V running on Windows Server Core.
- Microsoft Private Cloud certification.
