Virtualisation Consultant Required - £45,000 - Leeds

I am urgently seeking an experienced virtualisation candidate to offer support for a leading Medical Software company in West Yorkshire. You will be required to support their data centres around the UK.

Your main duty will be in the day-to-day operational support for my client's virtualisation platform; You will be required to do the following:

. Proactive performance tuning
. Monitoring and problem remediation
. Provisioning and capacity planning
. Scaling the environment
. Disaster Recovery
. Keep all documentation up to date and train Service Desk to handle Tier 1 support and triage of issues.
. Primary owner for all Virtualisation.
. Availability and performance of my client's Virtualisation platform built on VSphere 4.x and 5.x.
. Availability and performance of their Citrix platform
. Disaster Recovery for Virtualisation platforms
. Maintenance and general continuous improvement roadmap to ensure consistent user experience across growth or feature enhancements
. Implementation and Delivery for any and all changes of the production Virtualisation platforms

The main requirements for this position include the following:

. Must have: VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
. Desirable: Citrix Certified (CCA or CCEA)
. Desirable: Dell, Cisco UCS
. Must have: Degree in related field
. Minimum of 5 years VMware Management and Implementation experience: VSphere
. Minimum of 2 years VDI Management and Implementation experience
. Minimum of 2 years Storage Administration experience
. Implementing Disaster Recovery Plans through SRM
. Minimum of 2 years Data Centre networking experience
. Nice to have: 2 years SQL Server in a virtualised environment experience

In order to be successful, you should show an excellent technical understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems and also have VSphere 4.x experience. Any experience of performance tuning on servers (virtual and physical) and ideally performance tuning of .Net applications would be highly desired.

Overall, the ideal candidate would have previous experience of scripting and automation and have an excellent logical and analytical thinking process. You must posses the ability to work under pressure and partake in multiple tasks simultaneously.

You should also have excellent written verbal and interpersonal skills.
