Virtual Desktop Specialist (Xendesktop, VB Scripting, PVS)

ABOUT THE COMPANY/POSITION:

This is a unique and highly specialised position in a Global Consultancy. This team is providing a new capability for the business starting with the largest VDI project for a Private Cloud build in the Southern Hemisphere. This is an end to end team that will look after all aspects of VDI. They are heavily commited to automation and are looking for Senior Candiates passionate about Cloud that contribute to the project in an end to end capacity.

This is a long term requirement with the intention to extend or convert to permanent.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Implement, Manage and Support a CISCO UCS infrastructure to support 15,000 virtual desktops for private desktop cloud.
- Configure, manage and Support Xen desktop 5.6 environment for a mix of State full and Stateless (PVS) VMS
- Configure, Manage and support Web interface and PVS.
- Senior accoutnability for resolving VDI problems through to closure and providing strategic direction for the desktop platform.
- Evaluate and research new technologies for implementation into current delivery model.
- Contribute to defining new service offerings and enhancing existing service offerings.
- Helps define organisation technical strategy for the global teams
- Leads technology enablement projects and solutions.
- Senior BAU responsibilities around Virtual Desktop infrastructure

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Enterprise VDI Experience (Xen Desktop, VMware View)
- Proven experience in building SOE for an enterprise
- Enterprise Scripting/Advanced Scripting skills (VB, powershell)
- Strong understanding of Active Directory and a focus on Group Policy.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting complex issues from hardware through to applicatin layers.
