Video Engineer

Support the component architecture, design, development, testing, integration and deployment phases of CTO MAP integration platform. MAP is going to be built on the top of Red Hat Jboss Fuse software stack.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Define with Red Hat and review system design and component architecture of MAP system, this includes:
- Participation during requirements and design sessions insuring that component supports functional and technical requirements
- Ensure that delivered system supports non-functional requirements related to performance, auditing and stability of the system.
- Maintain together with vendor up to date documentation related to component design, API interface spec and configuration/deployment guide

Develop and execute component test packs

Support integration phase of project providing support related to the MAP component

Support or lead deployment of MAP systems at UPC affiliates

JOB DEMANDS VIDEO ENGINEER:

- MSc degree in IT or Telecommunications (Relevant equivalent experience also considered).
- Couple of years of experience in a similar position working with integration platform
- Hands on experience of using JBoss Fuse, including configuration, deployment and some programming with platform
- Theoretical and working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and ESB
- Hands on and theoretical knowledge of networking technologies (HTTP, TCP/IP, FTP,..)
- Hands on and theoretical knowledge of application integration technologies (XML, HTTP REST, JMS, SOAP)
- Familiar with Unix (preferably on system admin level)
- Familiar with SQL
- Plus of having knowledge and understanding of at least some of Digital TV systems (MPEG2, Conditional Access, STB's, Middleware)
- Ability to adapt rapidly to changing priorities and capable leading and influencing people within technical discussions
- Must have good interpersonal skills, to maintain and develop effective working relationships with others.
- Must have good problem solving skills and attention for detail.
- Experiences with testing integration applications
- Ability to understand and validate functional requirements against technical specifications
- Ability to understand impacts of technical solutions on non-technical aspects of projects (eg project planning, operational aspects)
- Excellent English.
- Desirable skills and experience
- Knowledge of DTV vendor products, ie Seachange adrenalin platform
- Knowledge of DOCSIS
- Theoretical and working knowledge of Web 2.0 and Web Services Technologies
