Vendor Manager

I am looking to hire a Vendor Manager for one of the public sector Client.

LOCATION--South West - Berkeley House,Swindon

DURATION--6Months

JOB DESCRIPTION:- - Candidate must have worked for at least two years in government departments/agencies in permanent or contractor roles.
- Understand internal user community needs and develop commercial strategy and sourcing plans, working with corporate procurement function, for multi-sourced IT environment; assess impact of changing business environment and amend plans appropriately, including recommendations for changes to vendor sourcing approach.
- Work with business functional leaders to meet strategic initiatives by undertaking strategic analysis, including research into suppliers, markets, product and service categories and site visits, including benchmarking and financial evaluations of potential and current suppliers.
- As part of wider DVSA team, effectively negotiate with vendors during sourcing selection process; draft contracts and technical schedules, develop acceptance procedures and criteria.
- Evaluate external sourcing options against internal resource capabilities
- Supporting implementation of the Sourcing Strategy through the development of strategic IT procurement policies.
- Ensuring that relevant government contracting policies for IT services are Embedded in the strategic IT contracting framework.
- Ownership of the Contract Template Library
- Creation of a comprehensive, integrated, high performing supply chain that will meet DVSA business & IT strategy.
- Effective delivery of IT vendor management & sourcing covering design, build and operate services.
- Investigate and report on market alternatives for services, products, vendors and resource in conjunction with DS&T innovation.
- Advice, through market investigation reports on sourcing methods, products and potential vendors.
- Inform Sourcing Strategy and negotiations through benchmarking, vendor analysis and assessing service/competitor innovation.
- Implement & manage a strategic Supplier Relationship Management approach ensuring that both individually and as a collective, DVSA IT vendors are delivering maximum value through their services.
- Manage regular senior level collaborative meetings.
- Initiate and manage cross cutting initiatives Design, implement and manage a Supplier Management Scorecard to measure the health of the relationship with each strategic vendor and that enables the benefits of collaboration to be identified and their delivery tracked to fruition.
- Has in-depth sourcing and commercial expertise.
- Experience of creation a comprehensive, integrated, high performing supply chain that meets business & IT strategies.
- Effective delivery of IT vendor management & sourcing covering design, build and operate services.
- Investigation of market alternatives for services, products, vendors and resource.
- Advising through market investigation reports on sourcing methods, products and potential vendors.
- Informing Sourcing Strategy and negotiations through benchmarking, vendor analysis and assessing service/competitor innovation IT Contract Development.
