Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester

Job Description

To deliver a high quality motor technician service servicing and maintaining vehicles working to main dealer standard.

To deliver a quality vehicle diagnostic skills, servicing and maintenance service.

To advise of additional work required on a vehicle and rectification of faults.

To ensure the Company image of professionalism and quality of service is maintained.

To maintain equipment, protective clothing and work areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition

To assist management with the introduction of new methods of work designed to improve efficiency.

To operate equipment and carry out all duties in a safe manner.

To undertake PDI work as well as road testing vehicles as required.

To maintain a high level of competence for the work to be undertaken by undergoing on-site training.

To keep work area and protective clothing clean, tidy and in a safe condition in order to uphold the manufacturers and company image.

To manage and ensure all work is co-ordinated, timely within the set guidelines.

To ensure a smooth operation with all jobs.

Requirements

Experience of working in a busy automotive environment

Minimum of 3 years' post apprenticeship experience, ideally with main dealer

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

City & Guilds level 3 in Light Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair

Full valid driving licence

Clean current MOT tester licence - Class 4 minimum
