VDI SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT

POSITION TYPE: 6 Month Contract

LOCATION: London

Our client is a successful company within the Travel Industry and is currently seeking an accomplished VDI Solutions Architect to take on a 6 month contract at their offices based in London.

DESCRIPTION

- Design, test, implement and support a new VDI (Citrix XenDesktop) environment throughout the EMEA region with scope to scale globally based upon agreed criteria driven by business need.
- Design internal VDI solutions based on Citrix XenDesktop 7.1 and/or 7.5
- Fully accountable for driving complete VDI solutions including environment design, product administration and support services and handover.
- Execute MS Desktop OS builds, installations with VDI best practices in mind.
- Develop and maintain all build guides, technical schematics, and test plans.
- Participate in internal and external VDI discussion meetings and act as Citrix XenDesktop subject specialist and must communicate clearly with both technical and business audiences from systems administrator to IT and Business management.
- Participate in presentations in a technical role, answering technical questions and offering best solutions.
- Consultatively analysing internal needs and determining the best VDI build for the business.
- Coordination of other technical and non-technical resources (both internal and external) as necessary to provide the appropriate VDI solution.
- Playing a key role in the development of the proposal processes, and presenting to key ICT and Business stakeholders.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - - Strong broad technical expertise in Citrix VDI
- Experience in Citrix XenDesktop 7.1 or 7.5 (MUST HAVE)
- Strong broad technical expertise in both Windows 7 64 Bit and Windows Server 2008
- Third-level support experience
- Overall understanding of technical processes and requirements
- Strong ability to work in a (virtual) team
- VDI implementation
- Experience with different software distribution systems (LANDesk/Altiris other systems are acceptable)
- Group Policy/Active Directory
- Scripting experience with Citrix (Desirable but not essential)
- ITIL
- Developing full documentation.
