VBA/Excel Developer

VBA/EXCEL DEVELOPER/REGULATORY REPORTING

Looking for a VBA/Excel Developer for a long term contracting assignment for a international bank based in Amsterdam. You will be Developing a global automated financial regulatory reporting solution. This person will work closely with business analysts and solutions architect to define the solution and incorporate technical requirements.

TASK

- Collaborate with Business Analysts helping to define the solution and ensuring technical requirements have been incorporated
- Ensuring development aligns to agreed standards and is of a high quality
- Evaluating and adopting new techniques to advance the platform
- Working with product and operations teams to streamline processes
- Development across each component of the reporting platform
- Aiding planning sessions and prioritization to facilitate agile delivery of features
- Day to day support of the platform to help diagnose and fix production issues
- Help define test strategy
- Provide timely spreadsheet solutions for Trade reporting and report delivery
- Provide both remediation and further develop for current spreadsheet reporting applications to allow Regulatory requirements to be more easily met
- Interpret central bank requests for report delivery and provide the best and most timely solutions
- Work on a regulatory reporting application
- Aggregate large datasets
- Work with the wider Technology support teams and ensure best practices are followed
- Be a central point of expertise and consultation on technical aspects of the regulatory reporting platform

Essential experience

- Knowledge of Excel & Access VBA
- Knowledge of SQL and experience configuring/setting up database Servers
- Knowledge of Java, Javascript-based languages
- Good understanding of XML
- Good understanding of SSL Encryption and Decryption processes
- Capital markets experience
- Experience of working in financial environment
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to work alone but within a small team
- Time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Experience working on large projects in a fast-paced environment

- Experience of working in investment banking - Risk and Finance
- Experience leading development teams in different time zones
- Experience using Atlassian software (Confluence, JIRA, etc)
- Understanding of Database architecture and design
