WHERE DOES THIS ROLE FIT IN TO VERSION1?

Version 1 is searching for an experienced VBA developer to augment our Dublin based Financial Services technical delivery team.

TELL ME ABOUT THE ROLE - WHAT WILL I BE DOING ON A DAILY BASIS?

We have a number of large IT development projects and are looking for experienced Analyst Developers to enhance and support systems using Access/VBA, .NET (c#) and SQL Server technologies. The nature of the applications is regulatory reporting and wholesale accounting. They are Windows and Web based as well as the Access Reporting suite with SQL Server database. The candidates would need to have good understanding of these technologies. Any knowledge of the Investment industry would be an advantage but not a requirement. They should be experienced in working within a structured team using set standards. Ideally experienced working within an Agile environment, but not essential.

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS JOB?

- 3 years + MS Access Database (2010), Reports, VBA developer (DAO and ADO).
- 3 years + .NET (c#) experience, including Winforms, ASP.NET and MVC.
- 3 years + SQL Server (2008) experience, including TSQL, stored procedures and database design.
- Automated testing (NUnit) and awareness of Continuous Integration (Jenkins).
- Proven track record of delivery on business critical systems.
- Accustomed to working in a structured environment.
- Good interpersonal skills, must be able to work well with other members of the team and deal tactfully with users.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (ANY OF THESE IS A PLUS)

- Use of code management tools (preferably GIT).
- Use of JIRA and Agile methods.
- Test driven development.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

- Business, Technology or Engineering related Degree preferred
