VB.NET DEVELOPER

SUMMARY:

Agile is seeking a VB.NET Developer.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced VB.NET web developer with a minimum of 5 years experience using Microsoft development tools and practices. We are seeking an IT professional with an excellent grasp of the .NET Framework (4.0 and higher) and VB to work in a team enhancing a suite of multi-tier applications to provide operational dashboards. In the beginning you will modify current code for phase 1 that's going live in October.  After which all development will be brand new.  Additional skills required include strong communication skills and client facing experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Good understanding of user interface design principles
- Strong .NET MVC web development experience
- Thorough understanding of the .NET framework (4.0 and higher)
- Working knowledge of .NET service references to consume web services
- Strong object-oriented JavaScript experience, including significant experience with JavaScript framework such as jQuery, Dojo, or ExtJS
- Strong experience with JSON
- Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
- Working knowledge of the dependency injection pattern
- 5+ years (technically proficient) in VB language
- Experience as a lead or senior developer on a production project
- Experience mentoring others on these technologies
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to provide high quality code for mission critical application
- High level of initiative and attention to detail
- Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus
- Ability to accurately estimate and plan implementation of a complex design

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Familiarity with TFS
- Writing SQL statements and stored procedures against a high transactional database
- C#
- .NET LDAP/Active Directory coding
- IIS administration
