SALARY: £160 - £180 PER DAY

Outsource UK Ltd is actively seeking to recruit a VB.NET Developer for a contract role with one of our clients.

THE CLIENT:

My client are a large well established manufacturing company.

THE JOB:

Help assist the main developer to develop systems in accordance with IT project plans and standards to support the business goals and strategy.Reporting to Department Manager.

ROLE DEFINITION

- Review, analyze, modify and develop systems/software on projects of various sizes to agreed plans.
- Ensure compliance, accuracy and sustainability of solutions are developed and tested to standard.
- Prepare detailed design specifications and present to the development team upon request.
- Conduct appropriate quality assurance checks and or peer group system reviews to ensure solutions meet requirements.
- Liaise with user departments to determine requirements, prepare detailed specifications in agreement with development team, progress updates, explain functionality and provide instruction for both User and Support Staff for ongoing use.
- Liaise with other Teams regarding design reviews and implementation.
- Assist and support the development team eg to provide cover across the team re customer service and escalation of issues.
- Creativity and Problem Solving - Work from a framework of options to produce detailed specifications. Respond to changing business requirements through iterative development
- Develop software to pre-agreed specifications and department standards - Free to plan and prioritize own workload, keeping to defined plans.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Work from a framework of options to produce detailed specifications.
- Capable of working autonomously, without day-to-day supervision within a team structure.
- Numerate and able to apply logical problem solving.
- Highly analytical and accurate with rigorous attention to detail.
- Good communication skills - workshops, presentations, liaison with user departments.
- Strong technical skills (especially in VB.NET and SQL)
- Required: ASP.NET, VB.NET, VBA, SQL, SSRS, Source Control
- Optional: PHP, WPF, C#, C++, Web Services, Agile methodology
- Strong knowledge and advanced practical experience of software development tools and programming languages through full life cycle software development in a commercial environment.
