VAT Advisor

Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced VAT Advisor to join a large public sector client based in Edinburgh, for an initial 5 month contract which may be extended beyond this up to a total of 12 months. The contract will be paying the appropriate market rate.

The role will be based within a small but very busy VAT advisory team and will be responsible for working closely with the VAT manager to deal with enquiries and considering contracts.

About You

The successful applicant will be an experienced VAT specialist with a strong knowledge of VAT legislation and HMRC rules and regulations.

You will also hold the following skills and experience:

. The ability consider a variety of projects and to apply the relevant VAT rules and regulations to determine appropriate treatment
. Experience liaising with senior managers and aiding discussions with HMRC where required
. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Other

The worker will be required to work 37 hours a week, over 5 days. All applicants will be required to either be in possession of, or be prepared to apply for a Disclosure Scotland certificate upon CV submission.
