Validation Test Technician

VALIDATION TEST TECHNICIAN HILLSBORO, OR 18 MONTH CONTRACT

This project requires functional/regression testing of networking products in the Linux KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) environment based upon project schedule.

New LAN on Motherboard or Network Adapter designs will arrive in the lab for testing. Required manual and automation tests are performed in the Linux KVM environment. The candidate develops test script as required. S/He reports the testing results using a designed process, and reports defects in a defect tracking system. Ad hoc tests and troubleshooting support will be provided as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Seasoned Linux administration skills, versatile in console commands and Scripting (PERL, BASH, etc.)
- Solid TCP/IP Networking knowledge and understanding of Virtualization
- Hands-on expertise in managing enterprise networks and configuring equipment (Switches, Routers)
- Experience with KVM installation, its configuration and the virtual infrastructure administration
- Enthusiastic and flexible with a very inquisitive attitude
- Familiarity with validation processes and methodologies like characterization and isolation.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Experience in validation roles, especially the network device driver validation
- Virtualization enthusiast
- RHCVA (Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator) or SUSE CLA/CLP (Certified Linux Administrator/Professional)
- iSCSI, NFS storage knowledge
