Validation Technician

VALIDATION TECHNICIAN SANTA CLARA, CA 12 MONTH CONTRACT

JOB DESCRIPTION: In this position, you will be a member of the PC Client Thermal Power Management and Enabling team, working in the lab on measuring and optimizing power and performance on the latest platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

- Disassembling/Assembling subnotebooks, notebooks, tablets and other client systems
- Reworking fine pitch components and soldering fine pinch wiring for DAQs
- Setting up systems and reference systems with NI/Fluke DAQs
- Installing Win/Android/Chrome OS and related drivers and/or software tools
- Debugging system set up or data acquisition issues
- Running benchmarks and other workloads
- Summarizing, reporting, and tracking experiment results in Excel

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Associate's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of PC architecture
- Good fine pitch soldering skills
- Understanding of electrical circuits
- Ability to read and understand an electrical schematic
- Experience working in a lab environment testing hardware, installing OSs, installing drivers, flashing firmware and running benchmarks
- Experience with setting up National Instruments HW & SW a plus
- Ability and discipline to read and follow a test plan and to comply with lab operational protocols and policies
- Ability to work in cross group and matrixed environment
