Validation Engineer

VALIDATION ENGINEER HILLSBORO, OR 6 MONTH CONTRACT

PRIMARY TASKS:

- Execute validation tests that stress all I/O buses and features of the system.
- Debug system down to the component level using lab test equipment that includes oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, function generators, and hand held test equipment.
- Use rework soldering station to do hardware rework of boards that include 0402 size discrete and fine pitch components.
- Disassemble, upgrade internal boards via rework or replacement, and reassemble to full working system.
- Update system to the latest firmware, drivers, OS and applications (best known configuration -BKC) using SW methods/tools (Dediprog, FPT)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- AS in Electrical or Computer Systems Engineering, or related concentration
- 3+ years of experience working in an electrical design team or validation team debugging software, firmware or hardware subsystems
- Good technical understanding of PC architecture including software, firmware, and hardware interaction
- Fast learner that is quick to trouble shoot and debug systems including BIOS, SW and HW issues
- Ability to read schematics and use Cadence Allegro software to correlate schematic to physical board components
