Utilization Review - Registered Nurse (RN) Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a UTILIZATION REVIEW RN to join our client in Santa Rosa, CA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Our client is currently seeking a qualified candidate to work as an Utilization Review RN in a hospital setting. This is a short-term Full time contract position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify the discharge date and document LOS (Length of Stay) management, developing a comprehensive plan of care and continual evaluation of the patients' clinical course through the continuum
- Apply clinical criteria for admission, continued stay and level of care appropriateness
- Interact with the physician on a regular basis to identify and achieve treatment and discharge goals
- Coordinate utilization activities of patient care to ensure appropriate admission, length of stay, resource management and maximum payer reimbursement
- Oversee the transfer/discharge and coordination of the patient from pre-admission through the acute setting to other levels of care in collaboration with physician, patient and the entire team

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Three (3) years of acute clinical experience required
- CURRENT CALIFORNIA RN LICENSE REQUIRED
- KNOWLEDGE OF ONLINE HOSPITAL MILLIMAN GUIDELINES IS REQUIRED
- Recent experience in case management, discharge planning and utilization review/management

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

- Case Management Certification preferred
