User Interface Designer/Developer

My client is a large government organization seeking a User Interface Designer/Developer with a minimum of 5 years experience who is able to undertake extensive liaison with business stakeholders in documenting and facilitating the creation of a UI design that enables a great customer experience.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

- Minimum 5+ years working in UI designer/developer role
- Previous experience guiding clients (whether internal or external) and engaging with customers and stakeholders (interviews, collaboration workshops).
- Previous development experience in CSS3 and JavaScript
- Understanding of Front End and Back End development
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and understand the different roles and responsibilities of UI, BA's and PM's
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to take conceptual ideas and turn them into useful and functional designs
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organise effectively
- Knowledgeable about current trends in web standards like HTML5 and Flash
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and written & verbal communication skills

ROLE AND DUTIES:

- Act as an advocate for user experience across the Skills Reform Program
- Produce all User Interface (UI) deliverables across concept, development, design and testing phases
- Establish design and UI frameworks and ensure designs are created from a user-centred perspective that considers business outcomes and technical requirements/constraints
- Gather qualitative insight to inform and apply to projects through participatory and iterative design activities such as contextual inquiries, user interviews and testing, participatory workshops and other forms of requirements discovery
- Take conceptual ideas and turn them into useful and functional designs
- Monitor quality and integrity of the user experience throughout development and product launch
- Use 'responsive web designs' to create an optimal viewing experience
- Work with Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Balsamiq, Visio or other equivalent tools
