User Experience (UX) Designer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a UX DESIGNER/VISUAL AND INTERACTION DESIGNER to join our client in Redmond, WA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop high-level experience concepts that drive to a combination of business goals, user objectives, and brand consistency.
- Explore, design, and specify visual and interaction solutions for mobile devices, tablets, and web that are functional, easy-to-use, and fun - all at the same time.
- Explore, invent, and specify content strategies, information architecture, and user flows for a wide range of product experiences - from music to navigation to account management.
- Collaborate and problem-solve with product managers, technologists, strategists, and other designers.
- Create and produce both high level and detailed design documentation to represent layouts, navigation, interactions, and user flows (eg, wireframes, mockups, comps, conceptual diagrams, styleguides).
- Prepare presentations and visualization tools to tell the stories of products to internal clients and external vendors.
- Provide creative direction and brand interpretation for internal and external stakeholders, while helping to communicate the value of design thinking, user centric design, and design process.
- Work with project teams and creative leads to determine design needs and how to meet them.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Three to five (3-5) years experience as a visual or interaction designer, user experience designer, or similar role.
- A portfolio that demonstrates a range of product and interactive design work.
- Excellent understanding and grasp of user-centered design principles, interaction and visual design concepts, and how they are applied to mobile and web products.
- Two to four (2-4) years experience in a creative lead role working with internal stakeholders or design agencies.
- Understanding of technologies used to build web and mobile products (HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.)
- Attention to detail and craftsmanship, ability to work with creative direction, and ability to manage workload across multiple simultaneous projects.
- Mastery of design and production tools, including Illustrator, Photoshop, Visio, Omnigraffle, Fireworks, etc.
- Software development, design agency, and prototyping experience a plus!
- Self-motivated, inquisitive, and eager to learn about mobile technology and how it blends with and impacts our social and physical worlds.
- Curious and open to new ideas, but with a pragmatic approach to solving problems.
- Think in pictures and concepts, and able to communicate concepts using storytelling, design tools, drawing, and other visual mediums.
- Comfortable with rapid and constantly changing technologies; thrive on tackling complex design problems, multiple data points, contending POVs.
- Open to creative feedback and debate, because you know it can produce better work.
- Love creating with design tools: Omnigraffle, Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Keynote, PowerPoint, etc.
- Enjoy learning new tools and methods to hone your craft.
