User Experience (UX) Business Analyst

Yoh has a nine (9) month contract opportunity for a UX BUSINESS ANALYST to join our client in Seattle, WA.

JOB OVERVIEW:
- At this level, candidates have a strong background in project management
- Projects undertaken at this level are large-scale or of significant importance to the organization, have large budgets, and require the coordination of diverse services, technical skills, supplies, and equipment.
- Project scope and resource limitations are clearly defined, but at this level, the incumbent exercises increased latitude for decisions within project phases and tasks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Business Analyst serves as the liaison between the client and the user experience, creative, and technology roles.
- Working collaboratively with the user experience strategists, designers, project managers, and other cross-functional team members, the UX Business Analyst researches, assesses, and develops solutions to meet our clients' business and development needs.
- The Business Analyst understands business needs and translates those needs into clear direction for the development team.
- Understands short-term needs of the business balanced with the long-term implications
- Building compliance and traceability matrices
- Writing functional specs and that map the visual design and UX artifacts to business requirements and business rules
- Communicates effectively both in writing and in presentations to clients and internally
- Performs cost/benefit analyses
- Be the internal owner of interpreting business requirements written by the client
- Understands the clients' requirements, strategies, and goals
- Assists in defining technical requirements for the scope of the clients' projects
- Participates in technical project intake
- Defines the responsibilities, operations, attributes, and relationships for business workers and business entities
- Creates and develops the business architecture for the project scope
- Uses tools to capture business models
- Conceptual models, process flows, functional specifications, scope matrices, and business justifications
- Participates in formal reviews of the business case and business object models
- Creates and owns traceability matrices to map solutions against business requirements
- Writes detailed functional annotations
- Defines project acceptance criteria

Job Qualifications:
- This position typically requires a four-year degree with three-plus years of business analyst experience in UX projects, as well as seven-plus years of related experience with marketing or project management or equivalent.
- Can lead and drive projects forward in both waterfall and agile manners
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills (master communicator)
- Ability to make tradeoffs using sound business and technical intelligence
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
- Understands how to motivate the team and push or pull back as needed
- Excellent analytical skills
- Tenacity and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Possesses an understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design
- Has an understanding as to what functional impacts requirements have for existing website/application functionality

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Direct experience in a variety of testing environments preferred.
